invisible cities radio

Invisible Cities Radio is an alternative to mainstream radio in Johannesburg. It is a place for artists and experiments. A place to talk about our city.

ICR started at an event, a drive in concert as part of the Invisible Cities series ( before it started moving around to semi-permanent homes and popping up at events or as part of public art projects.

There were some shows that happened semi-regularly but mostly when people felt like trying something out.

It's an ongoing experiment with the free and easy access of the medium.

From mid August to early October 2016 ICR will be set up in the Khirkee distrcit of New Delhi, India at the Khoj International Artists Association, building a body of sonic impressions in collaboration with the neighborhood. Watch this space.

See below for some of the shows that aired in Johannesburg in 2012.
